Warehouse Operative
We are looking for a highly organised individual with great attention to detail and excellent customer service skills, to orchestrate the proceedings of incoming and outgoing goods in our warehouse.
The Role
Reporting to our Warehouse and Fulfilment Manager, we are looking for someone to orchestrate the proceedings of incoming and outgoing goods, material and supply for the packaging, warehouse and brewing area.
We are looking for a highly organised individual with great attention to detail and excellent customer service skills. You will be keen to identify ways to improve our Warehouse systems and processes to support the growth of the business, with efficient product flow while minimising manual handling.
You will work closely across a number of departments, including the sales and brewery teams with great communication skills and cross departmental professionalism.
You will work alongside our Dray and Warehouse Team Leader who will support and assist where necessary.
Main Responsibilities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Moving and managing stock into the distribution warehouse from the packaging area and waiting bays.
Liaising with the brew team, contract brewers and courier company on beer being shipped.
Picking and packing pallets for orders raised by the Sales team, adhering to agreed cut off times – with a mindset of remaining flexible to ensure customer satisfaction.
Loading and offloading pallets onto couriers.
Booking couriers and actioning fulfilment related shipping requirements for various selling platforms.
Ensuring all shipping documents are completed and provided with the shipped goods.
Picking and packing e-commerce orders on a daily basis.
Monitoring stock levels, performing weekly and monthly stock takes and report ageing beer to the Warehouse and Fulfilment Manager and sales teams.
Storage and rotation of stock in the warehouse to ensure smooth running and FIFO system.
Receiving, receipting and communicating of incoming goods to the relevant departments.
Preparing all packaging material before each packaging day to be ready for the packaging team.
Weekly stock counts to ensure that our stock system is always accurate and in line with our brewery software.
Keeping the forklifts and all the other necessary warehouse equipment charged and maintained.
Managing a delivery log for incoming and outgoing goods including customer collections and internal stock movements.
Keep the yard tidy and organised on a daily basis, adhering to health and safety procedures to ensure our customers and staff are not entering at risk.
Managing and maintaining the FIFO system of the stock picking bays, that is used by online shop and delivery drivers daily.
Keeping the warehouse safe, clean and tidy – completing regular weekly cleaning log duties.
Maintain all warehouse and delivery equipment ensuring they are kept up to standard.
Keeping log sheets and checks and tests up to date.
Ensuring every dispatch order is going properly through our operating system and following outlined processes to keep stock levels as accurate as possible.
Daily forklift checks and regular racking checks.
Liaising with customers who come to collect their orders; helping them to load them onto the vehicle, and taking cash on delivery when necessary.
Adapting to work schedule changes due to the nature of manufacturing and unforeseen circumstances. Remaining calm and professional, with a logistical mind when prioritising workload.
Managing QC stock and ensuring goods are only released for sale in accordance with sign off.
Ullaging and draining beer when required.
During busy periods you will be required to cover dray duties when warehouse workload is manageable.
About You
Forklift, stacker licence is required.
Previous experience of warehouse or similar role is desirable.
Organised and able to multitask, as there are multiple demands on the department so being able to prioritise and manage this is essential.
Good administration and IT skills, able to navigate databases and spreadsheets.
Full UK driving licence essential as some support cover for deliveries may be required.
Work environment
The role will require frequent lifting and/or moving of kegs and casks, which can weigh up to 61kg.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud a lot of the time.
Temperatures may vary seasonally in work areas.
There will be a requirement for personal protective equipment and workwear as necessary and this will be provided for by the business or you will be reimbursed for any PPE purchased.

Start Date: Beginning December 2024. Interviews will take place week commencing 21st October 2024.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm each day, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: We are a Real Living Wage Employer, the hourly rate is £12.00, which equates to £23,400.00 per annum.
