Wiper and True are looking for people to join our great Front of House teams at The Taproom, Old Market, as we expand our opening hours to seven days a week. 

The roles are part-time with a start date as soon as possible. 

The taproom team is the face of the Wiper and True brand. As ambassadors for the company, team members represent the company and our values on shift and at taproom events. As such, the Front of House role suits someone who is a great team player, with high standards of service, cleanliness and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the set-up and close down of the venue in a timely manner

• Serve beer to customers in a responsible way, whether drinking in or taking out

• Cellar management and dispense

• Clear and wash glasses

• Ensure a positive customer experience, with a focus on providing engaging and educational service

• Operate the till system

• Ensure fastidious cleaning protocols are followed and the bar is kept clean at all times

• Adhere to the health and safety and standard operating policies and procedures

• Ensure adherence to licensing conditions at all times

• Ensure that all reasonable care is taken for the health and safety of yourself, employees, guests and other persons on the premises

About You

• Exceptional people skills; you are in a customer facing role and represent the brand

• Enjoy being part of a hard-working, busy team

• Calm and professional with customers and your team members

• Customer-focused, even under pressure and on busy shifts

• Passionate about beer, food and flavours

• Responsible for keeping work areas clean and tidy

• Proactive with supporting the team and managers on shift

• Comfortable working in busy environments and being self-determined on shift

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

You must have:

• Experience working in a pub, bar, restaurant or brewery

• A passion and understanding of beer OR a desire to learn about beer

• A comfortable and confident manner with customers

It would be good if you have:

• Knowledge of cellar dispense and line cleaning

• First aid qualification

Work Environment

The Taproom, Old Market is a large venue with a fantastic beer garden full of plants, people, and award-winning smash burgers served by our permanent resident food truck, Squeezed. It is a busy, noisy work environment and we host a busy calendar of different events every week.

Salary: As a Real Living Wage Employer the hourly rate is £12.60.

Hours: A minimum of 16 hours, Monday to Sunday per week, with weekend and evening work required.
