Front of House / Bar Work
We are looking for someone with incredible customer service, a great team player, with high standards of work, cleanliness and professionalism, to help serve our fresh Beautiful Beer.
Wiper and True are looking for people to join our great Front of House teams at The Barrel Store in St Werburghs, Bristol. The role is part-time and available on either a part time or a zero hours basis, with a start date as soon as possible.
Our taproom teams are the face of our Wiper and True brand and as ambassadors for the company are expected to represent the brand and our values on shift and at any taproom events. The Front of House role suits someone who is a great team player, with high standards of service, cleanliness and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Support the set up and close down of the venue in a timely manner
Serve beer to customers in a responsible way, whether drinking in or taking out
Cellar management and dispense
Clear and wash glasses
Ensure a positive customer experience, with a focus on being engaging and educational
Operate the till system
Ensure fastidious cleaning protocols are followed and the bar is kept clean at all times
Adhere to the health and safety and standard operating policies and procedures
Ensure adherence to licensing conditions at all times
Ensure that all reasonable care is taken for the health and safety of yourself, employees, guests and other persons on the premises
About You
Exceptional people skills, you are in a customer facing role and represent the brand
Enjoy being part of a hard working, busy team
Be calm, professional with customers and the team and customer focused, even under pressure and on busy shifts
Passionate about beer, food and flavours
Responsible for keeping work areas clean and tidy
Proactive with supporting the team and managers on shift
Comfortable working in busy environments and being self determined on shift
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
You must have:
Experience working in a pub, bar, restaurant or brewery
A passion and understanding of beer /or a desire to learn about beer
A comfortable and confident manner with customers
It would be good if you have:
Knowledge of cellar dispense and line cleaning
First aid qualification

The Barrel Store is our intimate neighbourhood bar, nestled in the heart of St Werburghs. One of Bristol’s most vibrant, community-focussed areas that bustles with independent businesses, green spaces and graffiti, St Werburghs was home to the original Wiper and True brewery. Today, super-fresh pints are served in the building where they were brewed from 2013 until 2022, and enjoyed alongside street food from the city’s finest pop-ups.
The Barrel Store is a lovely community venue which is busy, noisy and host lots of different events throughout the week. There is a beer garden.

Hours: Approximately 16 hours per week with mostly evening and weekend shifts available.
